- All controllers support RAID 0, 1, 5 and JBOD, in addition to the listed
RAID levels.
- The FastTrak S150 SX4 requires an SDRAM DIMM to be purchased separately.
(64 MB PC-100 sells for $10-20 on pricewatch.com.) The 3ware card uses static RAM (SRAM)
instead of synchronous dynamic RAM (SDRAM). Static RAM is a magnitude faster and more expensive than dynamic RAM, and hints at an alternative architecture.
- 64-bit PCI slots are currently not available in most mainstream
motherboard chipsets. They can be found in AMD Opteron,
Athlon MP (dual processor), Intel Pentium Xeon,
and Pentium-III server motherboards.
- Price listed is lowest price found on
Pricewatch.com on January 8, 2003.
